The Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics at the University of Manchester invites applications for a Research Associate to work on the SAGE-Spec project. The post will be based in the Alan Turing Building at the University of Manchester.

The successful candidate will manage the content of the SAGE-Spec spectral database, in collaboration with co-investigators at STScI. In addition, the post-doc will contribute to the spectral classification, performed at CfA. The post-doc will also use the SAGE-Spec data set to pursue his/her own scientific interest, within the broader SAGE-Spec science case and within the interests of the University of Manchester Stars & ISM group. This encompasses following the life cycle of dust and gas in a wide variety of environments and metallicities of relevance to the lifecycle of matter, ranging from stardust production sites (AGB stars, red supergiants, post-AGB-objects, planetary nebulae), to the interstellar medium (atomic and molecular clouds) to star forming regions (HII regions, young stellar objects).
